Iron-on patch
With the logo of St. Olav Ways
Description
By heating the patch with an iron, it is easy to attach to your clothes, backpack or pannier*.
Advantages of an ironing emblem:
- Easy and quick to attach
- Beautiful finish
- Easy to remove
- Machine washable.
*When made of Cordura nylon (PS36C). If you want to attach the emblem to a pannier or other item made of polyester fabric (PD620/PS490), use industrial glue. This also applies to plastic or leather.
Instructions
- Set the iron as hot as the fabric can handle. Turn off the steam function and do not leave any water in the iron.
- Place the clothing item on the ironing board, place the patch in the right place, and place a tea towel or baking paper on the patch (be careful not to move the patch).
- Using circular movements, press the iron onto the thin tea towel/baking sheet. Hold the iron in a circular motion on the patch for about 60 seconds.
- Let the patch cool and check if the patch is firmly attached by gently rubbing the edge with a finger and lifting it. If it is slightly loose at the edges, put the tea towel/baking paper back and place the iron back on the patch and press for about 10 seconds.
- Iron the back of the material on which the patch is ironed for better adhesion of the patch.
You do this in the same way as you applied the patch: you heat your iron, place a tea towel or baking paper on the patch and heat it. Once the patch is warm, carefully peel it off. You may need to reheat the patch occasionally to remove the glue. If you have completely removed the emblem and there is still glue on the garment, place a piece of kitchen roll on top and iron over the patch so that the glue is absorbed by the roll.
You can wash items with ironing patches in the washing machine. Make sure you wash the clothes inside out at 30 degrees or by hand. Regular washing may cause the patch to come off. To prevent this, you can attach the patch with a few stitches.
