Summary

Cycle over 500 kilometres from the Baltic Sea coast to the Atlantic Ocean along the world's northernmost pilgrimage route, the S:t Olavsleden. Follow Olav Haraldsson's final warpath along ancient travel and trade routes, where pilgrims, merchants and kings have preceded you for centuries.
On your way to his grave in Trondheim, you will cycle on asphalt, gravel and forest paths through the idyllic Swedish countryside. You will pass large lakes and wide rivers, cross deep forests and the Scandinavian highlands. Via the Norwegian mountains, you will eventually descend to the Trondheim Fjord and the impressive Nidaros Cathedral.
Since 2015, the St. Olavspad has been made accessible to cyclists and it is more than just a cycling adventure: it is a journey through history, a voyage of discovery through the rugged Scandinavian countryside and an experience of a lifetime.

Thanks to Gea van Veen’s hard work, there is now the optimal guidebook for cycling the St. Olavs Trail between Selånger in Sweden to Trondheim in Norway. As project manager for developing the pilgrims route, I can only thank Gea for this meticulous work. Guidebooks for hiking along the St. Olavs Trail have existed for several years, but now there is finally a guidebook for cycling. Thank you Gea.
