The Gudbrandsdalsleden (Het Olavspad, in Dutch) will appear in the Fietsvakantiewinkel's Route-App (the Fietsvakantiewinkel is a Dutch shop for everything you need for your cycling holiday). It has been ready for a while now, but the road to publication passes many intermediate stops: the Fietsvakantiewinkel, the app developer, Apple and Google. Unfortunately, no track&trace of this route, but it's coming!
The expected date is now mid/late May.
If you don’t know the app from Fietsvakantiewinkel, have a look here in advance (in Dutch, but you can look at the instruction video’s): Fietsvakantiewinkel.
The instructions are still being translated into English, but I will wait a little longer for this until the route is in the app so that I can take screenshots.
Important: the route in the app does not replace the guidebook*. There are many references to the guidebook, so you do need it for useful (background) information and directions. So why the app? Mainly for navigating because that is made very easy. The app is more user-friendly than other navigation apps. Accommodations, supermarkets, bike shops and places of interest can be found effortlessly. You can also add your own photos, give feedback and tips. Or read tips from other cyclists... And the app is basically completely up-to-date. All changes and additions are processed the same day in most cases.
* The guide in the case is the English-language guide 'Gudbrandsdalsleden'. The app itself is in Dutch, but the texts accompanying the route are in both Dutch and English. The app is also usable with the Dutch-language guide, even if the reference to page numbers is not correct. The big advantage is that all changes and updates to the route are in the app.
