- June 17, 2026 Diversion at Östersund, map 19
For years, work has been underway south of Östersund along the lake and the railway. Occasionally, sections are closed off, requiring you to take a detour.
I received the following message from cyclist Hugo:
"When approaching Östersund on the cycle path, I think between 80km and 85km on map 19, the cycle path is also interrupted, for a long time. It is at the Tjalmargaten railway crossing. I asked the road worker for the name of the street. He was the one who said it would take a long time."
The exact location Hugo is referring to is here:https://maps.app.goo.gl/8zFHjbPrkTrby1Hj9, but I assume that the detour is clearly signposted, just like in previous years.
- June 17, 2026 Diversion at Bräcke, map 12 and 13
I received the following message from cyclist Hugo:
"About 4 km before Bracke, there is a sign indicating roadworks and a detour. I ignored it and drove on to Bracke, enjoying the descent. At the church in Bracke, I could see that it was impossible to get through. With the help of a cemetery worker who drove ahead of me, I was guided via small roads and paths in the cemetery to a small bridge; after crossing it, I took the first left, and I was back on the route. I don't think that lady will be there every day, and that not everyone will have the luck I had. So, following the detour to get to Bracke is the message, I think. I believe I saw something that the works are going to last until the end of July."
