Route-app

Important: In collaboration with the Dutch travel organisation, publisher, and cycle holiday shop ‘Fietsvakantiewinkel’, Via Gaia also offered sections of routes via their Route app. Unfortunately, the app’s publisher, Fietsvakantiewinkel, will cease operations on 31 July 2026. It is currently unclear whether the Via Gaia routes will remain available, but please bear in mind that it is likely the routes will no longer be offered via this app. Customers should bear in mind that the data for route sections already purchased will no longer be available from autumn 2026 onwards.

There are two routes by Via Gaia available in the Route-app of the Fietsvakantiewinkel:

1. Het Olavspad / Gudbrandsdalsleden
2. Korte routes in Noorwegen / Short route in Norway

The Fietsvakantiewinkel is a Dutch shop for everything you need for your cycling holiday. And they have a great app for (offline) navigation! The app itself is free, but you buy the routes individually for the price of a cappuccino.

For cyclists, there is the Facebook group In het spoor van Olav de Heilige (In the footsteps of the Holy Olav) Here you can exchange experiences or ask questions. It's in Dutch, but feel free to ask something in English. You can also find news and information on Via Gaia's Facebook page and Instagram page.

Agenda

To promote the guide, I started giving presentations and interviews. These are all in Dutch, but if you’re still interested, you can find links to them Dutch news page.
What’s interesting, even if you don’t understand Dutch, is that I have an introduction clip for a presentation, on Youtube, which gives you an impression of the Gudbrandsdalsleden by bicycle. I narrated it myself, but you can enable subtitles which are automatically generated, on the bottom right of the video player.
