I just got a message from the pilgrim centre on Dovrefjell that a huge rock slide took place yesterday (March, 31st 2025) near Rosten, between Sel and Dovre. The E6 is still closed there.

There were no casualties, but at the same place, and also as a result of a rock slide, one person was killed in 2013. This was in the same period, but it can also happen after periods of heavy rainfall.

The cycle route goes exactly over this stretch of the E6, unless you cycle the alternative over Reinheimen. The E6 will probably reopen here soon, but it's good to know that this kind of thing can happen in Norway.
